   Maya from 7B carries her groceries up six flights. On the fifth floor she drops the eggs. A stranger from 7A picks them up.

   He hands her the carton. 'Two of them broke. Same as the rest of us today.'

   7B can hear 7C practicing scales every morning at 6 AM. Today the scale is a song Maya recognizes — from her own mother's playlist.

   7A hosts a dinner. Only one guest shows. Maya from 7B. Neither of them planned this.
