   Maya opens an eviction notice in a sunlit kitchen. Her daughter's drawings are taped to the wall. A faded photo of her father sits on the fridge.

   The return address is the company that destroyed her father.

   The Boardroom

   Maya walks into a hostile-takeover meeting carrying her father's last patent file. The CEO across the table doesn't recognize her face.

   She slides the patent across the glass. 'You owe my daughter a college fund.'

   The Penthouse Pool

   Late night. Adrian swims laps to clear his head. Maya appears at the edge in his guest robe — uninvited.

   He climbs out. She hands him a whiskey. 'I'm not here to forgive you. I'm here to negotiate.'

   The Ex Returns

   Adrian's ex-fiancée — now his rival's lieutenant — corners Maya at a charity gala and recognizes her.

   Maya confronts Adrian on the rooftop. He tells her everything he knew — and the year he spent buying back her father's debt without telling her.
