How the season unfolds

Each beat scaffolds into a real scene + shot when you start the project. Edit, rearrange, or drop any of them as you write.

   The Heart-Tree Falls Silent

   The Alpha's body lies beneath the great heart-tree at dawn. The pack circles. Nothing was stolen. The crown is still on his brow.

   The wolf-scout sniffs the air — and recoils. 'It was one of us.'

   The raven-scribe shows the fox-thief the succession register. Six names. Each crossed out twice except one.

   The Stag's Confession

   The stag-prince admits he met the Alpha alone the night before. They argued. He swears he left him alive.

   He produces the Alpha's signet — given to him at the meeting. 'I am the heir.'

   The Bear's Grudge

   The bear-warrior reveals her brother died in the Alpha's last hunt. She has motive. She also has an alibi.

   The Cliff Where the Owl Watches

   The owl-elder reveals she saw the killing — but she will only name the killer after the new Alpha is crowned.

   The Forest Vote

   The pack gathers. The fox-thief proposes a vote. Three claim the throne; three abstain. The wolf-scout must cast the deciding ballot.

   The Letter the Alpha Wrote

   The Alpha's last letter names his true heir. It is not a name in the register — it is the wolf-scout himself.

   The wolf reads it twice. 'He named me… because he wanted me to find the killer.'

   The Crown's Verdict

   The wolf-scout names the killer at the heart-tree. The owl confirms. The pack circles a final time.

   The new Alpha lifts the crown — and sets it on the heart-tree instead of his brow. 'No more.'
