   Mila walks through the gates of Toon Block Academy clutching a worn spell-book. Curly-haired Lulu Spark sees her from the steps and waves.

   Lulu cocks her head: 'Wait — that's a real spell-book.'

   Chef Rémy's Cafeteria

   In the school kitchen, Chef Rémy plates lunch for two hundred kids without breaking a sweat. Grandma Carla rolls out fresh dough next to him.

   Cliffhanger

   Chef Rémy taps the bell. 'Today — Mila's first day. Cupcakes for everyone.'

   Recess Showdown

   Teen jock Devon kicks a soccer ball clear across the yard. It would have shattered the library window — until Mila waves a hand and it gently lands in the grass.

   Devon stares. 'Okay. You're either on my team or my problem.'

   Madam Page's Library

   In the towering wooden library, Madam Page the owl helps Mila and Lulu look up the spell-book's seal. The shelves rearrange themselves while they read.

   Madam Page's eyes narrow over her spectacles. 'Child, your great-grandmother wrote this book.'

   Mayor Plumcheek's Show-and-Tell

   Mayor Plumcheek the pig waddles into class for show-and-tell with a tiny gavel. He calls Mila to the front to demonstrate her 'family trick.'

   Mila lifts the wand. Every paper airplane in the room takes off at once.

   After the last bell, Mila and Lulu climb the academy's old backyard treehouse. They swear to figure out the spell-book together by summer.
