   Dr. Anya operates on a gunshot victim. He survives. The bullet that came out matches one she fired three nights ago.

   The patient opens his eyes mid-recovery. 'I saw your face. In the ring.'

   The Ring

   Anya fights a heavyweight in the basement of a closed casino. She wins. The bookies cheer. The promoter does not.

   Cliffhanger

   The promoter takes her aside. 'You've drawn attention. The Cardinal wants to meet you.'

   The Cardinal's Office

   Anya meets the city's underworld king. He offers her a percentage to fight exclusively for him. He also threatens her sister.

   She accepts the deal. She also takes a photo of his desk on the way out.

   Detective Bruno questions Anya about the gunshot patient. He knows about the ring. He needs her to testify.

   Anya is scheduled for an unwinnable fight. The Cardinal is going to bet against her and collect when she loses.

   She makes the deal with the detective: take the police her photo of the desk, in exchange for an arrest tomorrow.

   Anya enters the ring against a fighter twice her weight. She loses. Three rounds. The Cardinal collects his money. He's smiling.

   Anya walks out of the basement. The detective is waiting with backup. 'You did good. We have his desk.'

   Anya operates in the trauma ward at 6 AM. Her wrist is taped. Her smile is in the chart instead of on her face.

   Bruno arrives with coffee. 'There's a new ring opening across the river. Your sister called. She wants in.'
